Most brands of malt vinegar you get to buy are seasoned for years and thus strong and flavorful. So they are clearly stating their malt vinegar is not gluten free.

Our own gluten free malt vinegar uses millet and buckwheat. However, it has around 20 parts per million (ppm) of gluten or less, which is generally considered to be suitable for people who are gluten intolerant or suffer from celiac disease. It is not distilled and contains gluten. The vinegar distillation process removes the gluten proteins from the barley so the malt vinegar is gluten free.
